As tax season approaches, Hispanic Unity of Florida (HUF) is launching its 23rd year of providing free professional tax preparation services to eligible families. The initiative aims to help families retain more income and avoid high preparation costs. HUF's president, Felipe Pinzón, emphasizes the mission of empowering families towards financial stability. Supported by community partners in Broward and Miami-Dade counties, the program has significantly impacted the local community, assisting nearly 4,000 families last year and bringing back nearly $3 million in tax refunds. The services are available to all eligible families, including those with disabilities and limited English proficiency, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality through IRS-certified volunteers.
